Traditionally, missing teeth have been replaced with either a bridge or some form of the denture. While these are still in use today, now you have a new option. Dental implants are a revolutionary treatment for replacing missing teeth and restoring the functions, health, and aesthetics to your mouth. They consist of three components.
The implant itself is a small titanium rod that is surgically implanted into the jawbone. The jawbone fuses to the titanium in a process known as osseointegration, turning the implants into stable roots. Abutments, or connectors, are placed at the exposed ends of the implants. Finally, crowns are placed at the very top, replacing the visible sections of your missing teeth. They function just like your natural teeth, enabling you to bite, chew and speak.
Crowns are typically made from ceramic, providing a natural appearance and restoring your smile. Ceramic can not only perfectly match the color of your natural teeth, but it also reflects light in a similar manner to enamel. When set in place, it is impossible to tell the difference between the implants and your actual teeth.

What Our Patients Say About Us
Dr. Kelly Hong is a highly trained and experienced general, cosmetic and implant dentist. She is known for her exquisite smile makeovers and her meticulous attention to detail.
Known as Dr. Kelly by her patients, she was inspired to become a dentist after seeing the boost in confidence a new set of teeth gave her grandfather. "My mission became to create beautiful smiles and make people happy," says Dr. Kelly. "I have always enjoyed sculpting and painting," she adds, "so it was natural for me to focus on cosmetic dentistry."
Dr. Kelly graduated with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University Dental School in 2004. In addition to being a practicing dentist, she has been a professor at Loma Linda University since 2006.
Dr. Kelly opened her practice in the High Desert in 2007. Word on her outstanding cosmetic dentistry skills soon spread in the local area. A chance meeting with a celebrity in West Los Angeles brought scores of Hollywood production personnel to the office. In 2011 she opened up a second practice in Century City to accommodate her growing Hollywood celebrity patient base, but then sold the expanded location in 2020 to focus on the Victorville office.
Dr. Kelly stays up-to-date with the latest technology and provides a wide range of treatment, including full-mouth reconstruction, dental implants, Invisalign® clear teeth straightening and TMJ (jaw joint) treatment.
Dental implants are a wonderful alternative for treating empty spaces caused by tooth loss or for stabilizing a loose fitting denture. The procedure is virtually painless and is usually completed in 30-45 minutes.
Dental implants are a long term permanent solution for tooth loss. In most cases, dental implants offer the best aesthetics and can't be differentiated from your natural teeth.
Dental implants are a quick efficient solution to replace a missing tooth. A bridge requires cutting on adjacent healthy tooth structures or removing good crowns to close the space. Research shows a dental bridge has an average life span of 10 years and replacement becomes complicated when a bridge fails. A dental implant is maintained well, can last a life time.
Most patients that have had dentures for ten or more years have experienced a change in the way their denture fits and is retained. They will slowly lose bone over time making it difficult to chew on food or speak with their denture. A denture can physically be snapped onto a dental implant allowing for much more proficient speaking, chewing, and confidence in your denture.
